Ok so I know you all were just dying to hear about the ball right?!! Yeah I thought so! I know some of you live vicariously through other blogs..don't deny it! I totally do it especially with those who have traveled to all the places I am still wanting to go to..ahem help would be nice!! :)
Let me start with the ball and then I will go into the movie we saw and a few other things.
Mr. M and I were way excited to be getting dressed up and heading out on the town..ok ok so Mr. M would have been happier had he not had to wear a dang bowtie but still. What is it with men and wearing bowties?!! I do have to say though in some of our pics he does look like he is being strangled by the dang thing...ok maybe I get it now!! It didn't matter though because strangled or not we were going out and having a good time and we did! The ball was held at the Village Pavillion here and I was amazed at how many people they were able to squeeze in that thing. Picture a large banquet room with a stage at one end and then 800 people crammed into way too few tables. Yes the seating was not so hot but what can you do right?!! We ate elbow to elbow and didn't care. The food was alright..the food is never fantastic so not a big deal to us really. Normally we plan a McDonalds run for after the ball anyway...yupp we are cool like that!! So the line to get into the ball was crazy long and then we stood in line so long at the bar that by the time we got up to the bar I had decided to tell the woman just give me the bottle of wine because I am so not coming back again!! I did too! Me and my bottle and glass went through the overcrowded room to my seat and watched as every woman I passed looked at me like I was holding a pot of gold..yupp they wanted my wine..goodluck ladies!! I stood in line for 30 minutes to get that dang bottle and I was bleeding it dry..hmmpffffff! Ok so I shared some with friends but still it was mine!! haha
After a few glasses of wine and finding out that some idiots at our table had taken it upon themselves to remove one of our couples and let their friends sit there it was a fun night just waiting to happen. Now picture sitting elbow to elbow with people you love and then people you can't stand...getting it now?!!! Oh yes the wine was a grand idea because it made some of the night bearable!! Oh what it must be like to be a 40 something woman who acts like a teenager still in highschool. She was mean and hateful to anyone she deemed inappropriately dressed and once she had her food she was down right lude and gross. So yes I had a good time at the ball once I had enough wine in me to be able to ignore the unclassed female sitting across from me. It was definitely something I will never forget and we were more then happy to take our leave and head home.
I do have to say though even with dealing with crazy women and messed up seating we had fun just being together and doing something different. I do have to say that I was quite taken with how Mr. M looked all snazzied up in his uniform...HOTTTT! Oh yeah I completely remembered why I married a man in uniform that night! *giggles*
Handsome right?!! Yeah I know I am lucky!! Too bad the dang photographer kept telling me to tilt my head so it looked like I had a dang double chin...nice right?!! Oh well it makes my heart swell to be standing next to such a hottie!!! MMmmhmmmmmm
So that was our ball..good, bad and a little ugly to wrap it all up! On Sunday we met up with a friend and her kids and we watched The Sorcerer's Apprentice. It was a good movie and we couldn't stop laughing at how the girls were awe struck from the time it started they barely moved. I think any movie that doesn't have animation and can keep DD2's attention is fabulous in my book! I enjoyed it as well. I would totally reccomend it to anyone with kids or even not with kids..it did have a small love story to it as well.
After the movie we headed over to have dinner at a local restaurant. In the time we have been here it has gone from bad to worse to better to fabulous and now we seem to be back to loser status and we will not be freqenting that place any more. I hate to see places go down like that but seriously the service is so bad that it makes even the fabulous food not so grand anymore..it truly is a shame!!
So our weekend basically was filled with fun, good food, bad food, bad service, crazy women, ugliness and fabulousness all rolled into one! Let's just say that by last night I was completely mentally exhausted!!
I do have to say though to any of you who are planning to go to a ball anytime soon...do NOT forget to bring your camera!! *grins*
Have a great day everyone and I will see you tomorrow for the fabulous post it note Tuesday!!

5 Question Friday!!
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy it's Friday and I am so glad I made it through the week with no injuries, all kids still alive and well, and Mr. M was fed, bathed and put to bed on time all week!! Baahahaaaaaaaa!!! Ok so I have been slacking in a few departments lately and one of them is of course my blog....so so sorry ya'll!!! It happens though and whatcha gonna do ya know?!! Oops sorry that Southern drawl comes out every now and then and I just have to let er rip!! There she is again!! :)
So today is once again one of my favorite days in bloggerville and that is 5 Question Friday with Mama M!! You all know how fabulous I think she is so why don't you head on over to her blog and find out for yourselves..for real!!! I might say that a lot today since all day all I heard from Princess Cutsey was "for real" Yes that is her made up name...who would name their child that..for real?!!!! :) Told ya!!

I might say that a lot today since all day all I heard from Princess Cutsey was "for real" Yes that is her made up name...who would name their child that..for real?!!!! :) Told ya!!
1. If you could speak with a different accent, what would it be (i.e Australian, Scottish)?
Ohhh this one is so friggin easy for me to say and even Mr. M could answer this one for me without even blinking! I would looooove to have an Australian accent...mmmmmmmmmmm!!! Can you seriously tell me that hearing an Australian man talk doesn't send those good chills down your spine?!! For real?!!!! Mr. M is constantly changing my gps from Aussie male to English..bleck!! Who wants to hear their own accent..duhhh!!! :)
2. Can you fall asleep anywhere? (i.e floor, couch, deck)
Nope! I am a total bed woman! Not only that but seriously take my pillow away and I tend to get a weeee bit testy!! Ask Mr. M..for real!!!!
3. Do you use public restrooms? If so, do you sit on the toilet?
Ok for real?!!! This is a corny question and not exactly one I would like to read everyone answers on..for real!! I do use public restrooms.. I mean when you gotta go you gotta go mister...right?!! I do try to squat if possible without touching the seat but have you ever been to a European restroom? Some of the toilets are so dang high it is near impossible to not touch them..sighhhh!! That my dears is why I carry my own toilet paper, hand sanitizer and we wipes with me at all times!! Jealous aren't ya now?!!
4. If you were stuck in an elevator for 24 hours, what celebrity would you most want to be stuck with?
Ok this one I actually have to think about..hmmmmm...errrrrrr...uhhhhhhh...gosh. If I get 24 hours with any celebrity I would honestly want to talk to Suzie Orman!! Mr. M can't stand her and I think it is hilarious considering when I first heard of her and started paying attention to what she was saying I dug us out of mounds of debt and put us up with a savings which until then we didn't know what a savings was!! Yupp I would like to get 24 hours of advice from her!! For real!!
5. Where did you & your significant other go on your 1st date?
Ohhhh this one is so daggon easy!! It may have been 16 years ago but I remember it completely! Mr. M picked me up and took me to Olive Garden(my choice to see if he was a cheapskate...he wasn't in case you were wondering) and then we went to a movie(again my choosing to see if we would watch a chic flick with me..again he passed)! Once the movie was over I told him to take me home and if he were lucky I would call him hte next day( I didn't once again to see how serious he was about me)! Yes I was a little mean back then but by the time I met him I had had way too many bad experiences with boyfriends and I was calling all the shots from then on out!! Seeeeee it totally worked out for me too!! haha
Ok so there you have it! Now listen to me...because I am so smart and fabulous ya know...and head on over and get your own quesitons done!!
Busy weekend and I will be back next week to update you all with pics of the ball!! Oh btw yes my wrap came in and even with a free bag for the inconvenience of the shipping!! I love free stuff!! hehe
Have a blessed weekend everyone!

Coffee and the mail...
So I have been this week doing all my final preparations for the ball as well as working on the birthday party. On Sunday I was invited to a coffee with the spouses club! My first thought was "coffee heck yeah" then my second thought was "meeting new people double heck yeah"! You all know how much I enjoy my coffee and combine that with some great conversation and the opportunity to meet new people and I am totally stoked!!
So this morning I will have to skip the gym and get ready for the coffee instead. A little sacrifice but in my opinion well worth it! Once I am done with the coffee then I will have to run over and check the mail. I am still waiting on my wrap for the ball and seeing an email saying I had a package last night got me all excited that maybe it actually made it here in time..please please please be my wrap!! Our weather has been all over the place lately. Cold in the morning and warming up to hot by dinner time. It is insane to try and dress for this kind of weather because I am either freezing in the morning or super hot by afternoon and needing to change clothes. My laundry duties surely do not like this weather either.
Yesterday morning I took a little trip with a good friend to the French deli in town and we had breakfast. Is there anything any better then a chocolate croissant and a latte for breakfast?!! I think not!! It was a nice time and we ventured down to the Italian store to check out some wine and then to Aldi to stock up on some produce and other goodies. It was a short day for the kids in school so the rest of the day was running errands with kids...not exactly my pick! I so love my mommy time where I get to do all I need to do by myself without having to spend an extra 20 minutes waiting on kids to get ready or listening to "mommy can I have" all day. I do love my mommy time. Can you tell?!! :)
So after I drop of DD2 at school then it will be get ready time and then coffee time for me!! Yayyyy for coffee!! I swear it is what keeps me sane some days. Cross your fingers for me that the mail will deliver my wrap and I will not freeze my buns off at the ball this weekend!!!
Have a fabulous day everyone and be sure to come back tomorrow for more fabulous questions from one of my favorite bloggers..Mama M!!!! Have I told you she is fabulous lately?!!! Well then come back tomorrow and check her out for yourself.

A day in the life of....
So I know my blogging has been a little crazy lately so let me begin by saying...SORRY!!!!! Things here have really sped up lately and honestly I am not sure who opened up the flood gates but could you possibly close them?!! I mean just for maybe a week so I can have time to think about everything going on. Yupp you got it folks my life is busy and my kids lives are busy and Mr. M apparently has received an easier job now so that he is not busy!! What happened?!! I used to lunch with the girls and go shopping and go to the gym and really enjoy being just me during the day. Lately though it has been meeting after meeting and email after email and occasionally I get someone who says "hey let's do lunch" and don't get me wrong because I literally leap out of my seat when those calls come just for a chance to get the heck off this laptop and be me again even if just for an hour or so.
Ok so I still go to the gym every morning...come on now I have to fit into this fabulous dress that I had made for the ball coming up right?!! Ohhhh have I not told you all about the ball coming up this weekend?!! Where are my manners? Yes we are going to a ball this weekend and I can't tell you how excited I am for a night out to strut my stuff in a beautiful dress and pretend that there are not 100 emails waiting for me at home!!
I will definitely have to share pics with all of you once it is over..I mean who doesn't want to see my dress?!! It's fabulous and it's red and it's gorgeous and I totally bought it only because it was a designer knock off of a dress that Sarah Jessica Parker wore...LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE HERRRRR!!!! Don't judge me seriously I love everything about her. She has fashion sense that for some reason I was so not born with or taught or whatever the case is. She is cute, and funny and down to earth and of course had the absolute best job ever of being Carrie on Sex in the City!! I would kill to be her!! Ok so I am a little obsessed.....whoopsie!! It happens! Shhhhhhh!
So busy with getting ready for the ball, then DD1's birthday party the next weekend. In between all that has been planning a Halloween party, planning fundraisers for DES, planning the Holiday party for DES and of course PTSA and somehow PTA slipped in there as well. Don't get me wrong I love being a part of things and I absolutely love love love planning parties but why is it that everything happens all at the same time?!!
OMG did I mention that DD1's party will be her 13th birthday party?!!! squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I am sooooo excited and trying to make this party the best one she has ever had!! I for one believe that turning 13 is a HUGE deal for any kid and especially for my daughter! Her birthday last year was kind of a bust since we had family issues going on and so this year needs to be the best darn party I have ever planned for her and it will!! No doubt in my mind that her friends will be talking about this party for weeks!! That being said I may just have to collapse after it is all done from pure, straight up exhaustion!!! *sighhhhhhhhhhhhhh*
All in all it will be a blast and I promise to share all the pics and gory details of all the goings on in the next few weeks. I did get an invite to a coffee that I am excited to go to as well. I will totally tell you everything about it and who and where when I find out that it is ok to do so. *grins* Are you curious yet?!!! I would love to tell you but then I might have to hunt you down and kill ya so let's just go with I will tell you all about it later!! K?!! Good!
Ok so back to emails that I have noticed coming in by the dozens in the just the little time that I have been typing this up...ughhhhh!!! I hope you all have a fabulous day and that your week has something that will make you smile!
Ciao for now!

Ok ok sorry but seriously ya'll she is fabulous...funny, cute, smart, I mean for real she is raising 5 kids and still has time to blog!! Isn't that like worth an award or something?!! I totally think it is!

Ok so that was the Friday questions!! Did you love em?!! Did you answer them yourself while you were reading them? Head on over and see Mama M and get in on all the fun for yourself. All you have to do is click that button up there and get your questions on!! Come on ya'll I will be waiting to see your answers.
I have a busy weekend planned so I will be back soon to update all of you on what has been going on and all the stuff we did!! Have a grand weekend everyone and see you when I see ya!!!

Ok ok sorry but seriously ya'll she is fabulous...funny, cute, smart, I mean for real she is raising 5 kids and still has time to blog!! Isn't that like worth an award or something?!! I totally think it is!
1. What is the first nightmare you remember?
Ok seriously?!! I mean I can't even remember what I had for lunch yesterday let alone my first nightmare!! I would probably say it had something to do with watching the movie Jaws....squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Ok so I am not sure if you all know this but I am deathly afraid of sharks and can not even watch that movie or else I lose all credibility with anyone watching it with me. I turn to total jello and have been known to leave the room crying and screaming.. Yupp I said DEATHLY afraid ya'll!! NO joke!!
2. Even if you're not a sports fan, what's your favorite sport to play/watch?
I swear this has been an issue in my marriage for quite some time now. When Mr. M and I got married I actually liked watching football and absolutely loved watching the Superbowl! I am not sure what happened but...maybe the every friggin Sunday football or maybe the every dang party football talk....I have lost my interest in watching football. I can hear you gasping now...I know it's unAmerican. sighhhhhhh
If I had to choose a sport that I do like watching I would have to say ice skating..I love love love to watch them!!
3. If you could pull off one piece of trendy fashion, what would you want it to be (jeggings, hats, thigh high boots, etc.)?
Ok if you have been following for a while then you have seen my blogs about how I am fashionably challenged!! I really have no idea again what happened. When I was in school and college I was always in style and always had the "it" trends in my closet. Alas after so many years of marriage and 2 kids later I have lost my fashion eye..yes I said it!! I have somehow moved into frumpyville and I can't find my way out. HELP!!!!!
If I could pull off anything trendy I would love love love to have someone take me to a store and get one just one fabulous outfit that doesn't make me look like a hawaiian cupie doll!!
4. Did you make good grades in school?
I had good grades in school until I hit college and then I figured out that the classes where I wasn't doing so well I would just drop and take again later...yupp I was a dropper in college folks!! I have to say though I did eventually go back and finish all those classes after finding out I have a learning disability and how to fix it!! Yeah for smart professors who believed in me and knew I wasn't dumb!!
5. What magazines do you subscribe to?
Oh lord!! Ok so this is another sore subject with Mr. M in our house. See you know how all the magazines do those holiday season things where if you subscribe then you can gift a subscription to a friend for free or really cheap?!! Yeah well I just happen to have a lot of really nice friends who are constantly gifting me magazines. Maybe because they know I love to read them but would never actually pay for them myself. Last year I ended up with 3 subscriptions to Family Circle and had to call the company and ask them to stop sending me 3 magazines at the same time!! *grins*Ok so that was the Friday questions!! Did you love em?!! Did you answer them yourself while you were reading them? Head on over and see Mama M and get in on all the fun for yourself. Snapit...review
I was recently asked to review something. It's called Snapit screen capture. I have used something similar in the past and I absolutely love these things. Have you ever wanted to take a picture of your screen for any reason and not known how to? This is the product for you!! It is simple, easy and convenient as well.
Screen Capture Software
Click on the link and go check it out for yourself. Here is a little about it...
It is a very convenient tool for bloggers. When you write posts on your blog you need to
capture and crop images from different sources - this tool is for you.
- Supports hotkeys, auto-saving, clipboard
- Automatically copies screenshots to the clipboard
- Tracks capture history, auto-saves captured images
- Saves files in BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG and TIFF formats
- Auto-names captured images
I used to use something similar when Mr. M was deployed and we would talk on screen. It was a great way to catch a picture of him and share with the kids when they got home from school. There really are so many possiblities with things like this and I do hope some of you will check it out for yourselves.
Have a great day!
