Getting prepared and an award!!

Ok so like everyone else(I am assuming) I check my email first thing in the morning. Making sure there is nothing I have forgotten for the day and to be sure that I have not received anything else I need to take of for the day. This morning I check my email and low and behold I have an award from another fabulous blogger!!  I love awards and I love to receive them..I mean who doesn't right?!!!  HRH Mommy over at M for Mommy has honored me with this award...

This is the Foxy Mama Award!!! Ok now seriously not only is it great to receive an award but this one fits me to a tee!!!  I know I am fabulous and I am sure you all have figured that out too but foxy?!!  *blushing  Ahhhh shucks I am so honored!!! Thank you so much HRH Mommy for giving me this and thinking of me as foxy!! :)



So today is the day before we leave for Italy and hopefully I have everything worked out and ready..if not oh well we are leaving tomorrow anyway.  I won't be here for 5QF...daggnabit...but I will try to catch up with all of you when we get back.  I am so excited to see Italy and take all the beautiful pictures that I just know are going to make you all feel like you were there too!  Of course the corny tourist pic that everyone takes with the leaning tower of Pisa and some breathtaking photos of Duomo and Lucca.  Even though I am dying to take tons of pics I think I am most excited to hit the market vendors and snatch up some fabulous deals!!  Of course I will share pics of all that as well.  So as much as it pains me to take a small hiatus from you all I have to be gone for a while just to take my lovely trip.  It is only a weekend trip so I will be back soon with all the fabulousness that is Italy to share with each and everyone of you!

Post it note Tuesday!

Yayyy it is that time of the week where we all get out our post it notes, write to our little hearts content and then sift through each others and laugh our little tails off!!!  Now doesn't that just sound cute and fun?!! :)

Laziness,cats and dogs, and wine!

So Saturday Mr. M and I decided to take the first half of the day to just be lazy!! Ahhhhhhh how nice it was and how long it has been since we actually had just a plain ole lazy day together. It was fun and we even finally watched a movie which of course we hadn't had time to watch all week and it was already late..whoopsie!! :) 

The movie,Open House, was ehhhhh ok I guess. It really didn't make much sense for most of the movie and honestly the ending sucked big time!! After watching an overpaid for crappy movie we decided to take the girls to see Cat's and Dogs at the movie theatre. Ok seriously AAFES can you...ohhhh I dunno...maybe clean the flipping theatre even once a dang day?!!!  I am so tired of going to the theatre only to have my shoes stick to the floor because it is so nasty, disgustingly filthy that you have nowhere to walk without sticking to the floor. Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!  The movie was funny and the girls laughed so much I just knew it was hit for them. We did have a group of 2 yr olds in the front of the theatre and the first half hour or so it was cute to hear "I need to go potty" or "can I have a drink too" from them but after that it was annoying and distracting from the movie.  It was nice and I do enjoy having that family time with just the four of us so I guess it was worth the sticky, icky floors and the loud 2 yr olds with us.

Once the movie was over we came home and dropped off the truck and headed over to a friends house for dinner and some adult conversation. Several hours later, several bottles of wine later and several of their neighbors coming over the entire night was fabulous!!  Let me tell you how funny some of their neighbors are..for real!!!  We were chatting, laughing and just having a great relaxing time and it was the best ending to a great day!!  Still no balcony sitting but I will give them some extra time to find the bolts to their benches I guess..sighhhhhhh...I mean they just moved in and all!! I am so nice right?!! Haha!!

5 Question Friday!!

Yayyyyy it's Friday!!  This week went by fast as usual. I could have sworn that summer was supposed to be all fun and relaxing but this summer has been busier then the school year I swear!!  Don't get me wrong I am enjoying sleeping in and having fun but could definitely do without all the busy work stuff. Ok so let's get to the Friday fun with Mama M and her questions....

1. Are you a neat sleeper or a messy sleeper?
Is there such a thing as a neat sleeper?! I know my bed looks like a tornado went through it in the morning so I am guessing the answer would be a big fat messy for me!

2. Fill in the blank. I wish I was more ________________.
Hmmm..ok  I wish I was more outgoing. I love adventure and exploring new places but when it comes to getting to know new people I am just a shy gal! You would think with all the moving I have done over my lifetime I would easily adjust but alas it takes me forever to put myself out there and get involved in things with people.

3. What is something that you wish you had been warned about?
I really wish that someone would have warned me about debt! Growing up it seemed as if we had an endless supply of money and the word no was rarely used in my house. If we wanted something we got it. So being an adult and having to deal with money has been a true eye opener for me. I have been through overspending, budgeting and finally made it to the point where savings is a priority and debt is an ugly word! It only took me..ohhhh...about 10 years of marriage to figure that one out! Haha

4. What was the best thing you ever found at a garage sale/flea market?
The last time I was here in Germany I had a good friend who used to go with me to every flea market and yard sale we could find. We went to a fleamarket one time and I found my secretary desk that I love! It is antique and soooo fabulous!

5. If you could have any meal brought to you right now, what would it be?
Ohh this one is so easy it's not even funny!!  I would like beef fajitas with guacamole, chips and cheese and a giant margarita from El Chico!! MMmmmmmmmm  MMmmmmm MMmmmmmm!!!



Ok so now that I am hungry for Mexican and yet stuck in a non Mexican having country..thanks for that!! Ughhh!

Thanks and crazy days!!

First off I wanted to say Thank you to all of you whom left me such fabulous comments yesterday on my little rant!!  It is rare that I come across such people but honestly it still shocks me when I do.  Yes my  husband is in the military and yes I support him 110% of the time but I,myself, have NO rank!!  As many of you said and I so truly believe we as wives have to stick together and rank plays absolutely no part in that!  Just as I have always said I adore blogging and it brings so many of us together for fun, laughs,advice,rants and just plain ole friendships!  I have never ever felt any type of rank here in bloggerville and for that I am truly greatful! I love all of you bloggers out there no matter whom you are, what you do or don't do or even where you are!  I love to read about all your different walks of life and truly am greatful for knowing each and every one of you!  To you all....Cheers and big hugs!! I toasted with coffee since it's ummm 9am here but was totally thinking it was wine so that counts right?!!! lol

Yesterday was to be a busy but fun day and it turned out busy, crazy, sad,stressful, and ended up a bust!!  I headed out of town with a friend to check some stuff out. I got some great plate holders which I had been looking for for awhile now so was really happy about that and also found a really cute lamp..well ok 3 really cute lamps I wanted but knew Mr. M would pitch a fit if I got them without his approval. He is so funny how he could care less how I decorate the house and yet let me buy some big purchase without him seeing it first and you would think I stabbed him with knife...sheeesh men!!  So I will have to return there another day to show him the lamps before I get them...the things we women do to make our men feel included I swear!! lol
So after that we headed off to have lunch and then a little more shopping. I got some crazy hair thing which Mrs. Jaimacagirl said are awesome and work fabulously!  We shall see with my crazy curly hair I usually can't use the same stuff as everyone else but I am always up for trying new things so I bought some.  If I actually get them to work I will take a pic and show you all..they are like cork screws for your hair to make an updo..totally clueless?  I was!! We shall see.
A few hours back at home to do some minor cleaning and finish up laundry..yuuuuck..and I was coordinating dinner and a movie with Mr. M and Mr. and Mrs. Jamiacagirl.  We finally get it all set up and we meet for dinner which was fast since it took awhile to get it all coordinated and we were all a bit late so we ate like..well like military men in a chow hall..haha!!!  As soon as we were done eating Mrs. Jamaicagirl and I headed off to the movies. I was dying to see this movie "SITC2" since I had missed it the first time it came around with things going on. Of course we get there 15 minutes before start time and stand in a crazy long line..didn't these people see this movie already..ughhhh..and we stand and stand and stand..the whole time realizing that they floor of the movie theatre is so dang dirty that our shoes are sticking to it...can you say gross?!!!!  Ewwwwwwww seriously!!!  We finally get our tickets and head in to grab our seats a few minutes into the movie..dang lines!!!  The movie is great...we are laughing..having a great time..smiling and totally enjoying ourselves when low and behold the movie guy flubbs it up again!!!  I have yet to ever go to this movie theatre when they don't flub up the film and we end up watching an hour and half movie in about 3 hours....can someone say new movie people?!!!  So about 2 hours into us being there and probably about an hour into the movie Mr. Jamaicagirl calls and says he is locked out of the house and needs the house key.  Ok as much as I was dying to see this movie and it was taking flipping forever for them to play it right...Mr. Jamaicagirl and their kids sitting outside was not even an option to finish the movie.  We raced out of the theatre and headed home to let them in all the while Mrs. Jamaicagirl is appologizing and I am reassuring her that her family stuck outside is much more important then a dang movie.  So I drop her off at home and she promises "when the dvd comes out it's you, me, wine and we are seeing it"!  Ok well did you think I was going to say no that one?!! Hahaa  I am soo there!! 

So I headed home to explain the whole night to Mr. M who laughs and feels bad like I did about them sitting outside and how we wish they had called sooner or that we had known but alas hindsight is 2020 right?!!  It all turned out ok in the end and from what I saw of the movie I totally loved it!!  I can't for it to come out on dvd now to actually see the movie in its entirety without any flubs or replays and of course seeing the ending!!  It may not have been the night I imagined but I have to say it is always exciting around the Jamaica family!!!

So I hope you all have a great day today and hopefully you never get locked outside of your house, you never have anyone throw their nonexistant rank in your face, and you always end the day with a big smile!!!

Military wives and tollerance..

Ok so toady is the day where usually I just ramble on about..well nothing major really...cool stuff but today I am going to take a stand!  Today is the day that I tell you all about how being military wife has affected me and how I believe we should all not only act to one another but also about how we decide we want others to act around us.
Of all the years I have been a military brat and now a military spouse I have seen a lot of fabulous women go above and beyond to help one another out. I am ever so greatful to all military wives who have chosen the high road in life and decided to help out other military wives with everything that they have in an attempt to make our little community one that we are all proud of. There are however some wives out there that will ruin for all of us who are working our little tails off to make our world grand and tell us just what they think of us for ignorant reason.  For all of those women out there who have had to deal with someone turning their nose up to you because your husband is enlisted not officer or because your husband is lower ranking then theirs...I salute you!!  If you have been through an ignorance tornado and made it out with your head held high...I salute you!
It has been an extremely long time since I have ever had anyone think it was ok to treat me in a manner in which I felt was nothing but pure ignorance but alas it has happened recently and so I am telling you all about it.  To hear a fellow military wife say to someone else "we don't associate with enlisted and we don't associate with others who do"  is just plain ignorance and snobbery!!  If you think that you are any better then me then by all means prove it!!  Your husband may get paid more then mine but that does not make you any better then me!!  I was raised to be kind and tollerant and just and apparently you were raised to be a bitch!! Excuse my language all but seriously there is no other word for this woman!!
I have a college degree and worked my tail off to get it while raising my kids and moving every few years to follow my husband who was serving his country faithfully and honestly. So how exactly are you any better then me?!!  I think that as military wives we have a responsibility to take care of each other and to make sure that everyone no matter what their rank completely understands just how important our job is.  We all send our husbands off to deployments and tdys and places we would never dare to dream of going let alone volunteer to go to but we support them nonetheless because we are courageous,warm.loving,supportive wives who would never dream of a life without our husbands. We would do anything we had to just to make sure our country is taken care of even if that means sacrificing our own happiness for months or years or even giving the ultimate sacrifice!  So can you tell me how some nasty woman can decide that it is ok for her to turn her nose up to me just because my husband chose enlisted instead of officer?!!!

I dread the day I actually have to stand up to someone like that for my husband..don't get me wrong ya'll I WILL with great pleasure let her know exactly who I am and who my husband is!! I am damn proud of what he does and who he is and will never shy away from that!  For those wives out there who have decided to live a life of snobbery I pitty you!! I actually pity the lifestyle that you have chosen and can only hope that when that day comes and your husbands life is saved by an enlisted man..it will happen because that is Karma....then I pray that you finally find the courage in your heart to realize the error of your ways and embrace that man with all you have!!

Aren't we supposed to be supporting our troops not sticking our noses up at them?!!

I will get off my rant now but let me leave you with this....Have you ever had someone make you feel bad about yourself simply because of who your husband was?  We all need to take a stand and let people know that that is not acceptable to us and we are not going to just sit by and let it go!!
