TDML Thursday!

Ok so I was a slacker yesterday and just didn't have time to blog. I wanted to say welcome to my newest followers and Thank you so much to everyone for the great comments!!  Yesterday we had a field trip to the zoo with DD2's Kindergarten class and it rained on us it was not fun at all.  The kids wanted to see the animals so bad and we were trying to keep them as dry as we possibly could but do you have any idea how hard it is to wrangle up 5 Kindergartners when they all want to go different directions?!!  OMG it was tough!  I know there are some people on here that have a ton of kids and do just fine with them but I am not one of them. My girls are 7 years apart for a reason people!! LOL  I will definitely show you some pics one day but I haven't had time to download them yet.

So for TDML(Trip Down Memory Lane) Thursday I left off on our wedding day.  Well we had our wedding and it was gorgeous and memorable and fabulous. I could not have asked for anything more and I was so greatful to everyone who had a hand in it. We went to our hotel where we had reserved a suite with the honeymoon package and let me tell you how disappointed we were. The champagne we were supposed to have was cheap sparkling wine and the gourmet chocolates were Russell Stovers $10 box..I was not happy at all!!  The room was beautiful and after I got over the stuff that I wasn't happy with we really didn't seem to mind all of that. Now seriously I am not going to tell you all about our wedding night...don't act all shocked!!!

The next morning...err afternoon..we went back to my mom's house and opened presents and started packing up everything to move first thing Monday morning. You see Mr. M came home on Thursday, we got our marriage liscense and had our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on Friday, got married on Saturday and he had to be back in Kansas by Tuesday. Gotta love the Army now don't ya?!!!  So we married and packed and moved in 3 days..woohooo for us!!  We had already put down a deposit on our apartment in Kansas and went straight there..speeding the whole way because we were running late as usual(I got a ticket for doing 81 in a 50..hehe  whooole other story).  We got to our apartment and got all our stuff unloaded and crashed.  The next day we started setting everything up and had to go out and buy a microwave and a few other things we didn't have.  We were married now and we knew we had about a month and a half to get settled and ready for Mr. M to deploy in early January. We knew this before we got married it was one reason we pushed our wedding up but I was so not prepared for this and I had no idea just how not prepared I was until that day came.

Now to say I cried would have been a joke..I balled my behind off ya'll!!!  I was a total wreck and it seriously took me a week to drag my butt out of bed after he left.  I did it though and I went out and got a job and figured my way around town and even ended up meeting some really nice people.  I would go home sometimes for a week or so just to be with family and friends but for the most part I stayed in Kansas and tried to make a home for us. It was hard and it was like nothing I had ever done in my life but I did it and now when I look back I actually am proud at all I did by myself.  Don't ever judge a newly married Army wife whose husband is deployed and who has never had to run a household in her life!!  I had a few bumps in the road like someone leaving nasty pictures on my car which I had to report to the unit just because well..I was scared ya'll..and then they made me go to the police who beefed up a patrol on my road and actually made me feel more safe.  There were times when I got lost around town..this was way before gps..and had to drive for hours to try and find my way back to somewhere I knew but I had done it and I made it through that 6 month deployment and came out of it with a new respect for Army wives everywhere.

We were stationed in Kansas for 3 1/2 years and I loved it there by the time we left.  We had moved out of that apartment mainly because Mr. M didn't like what had happened while he was gone and wanted me somewhere more safe. So we had moved to another house near friends and then eventually on post where we lived in two different houses because they were going to tear down the one we origionally moved into.  I loved living on post and felt safe and happy so much so that we then decided to try and have a baby. We were married two years by then and after 4 moves we finally got settled into a nice new house and ended up  pregnant 8 months after we started trying.  I was so happy and Mr. M was so excited and then we got the news that he would be deploying again..ughhhhh..of course it would come after I get pregnant with our first child and of course he would be gone for the entire pregnancy and come home after I had the baby.  Once again... ya gotta love the Army!!!

I will tell you all about my pregnancy and great friends that I made on that deployment and moving a friend in with me only to have to have her removed from my house and then having my baby all alone next week.

Thanks for sticking with me all of you and I really do hope you have a blessed rest of the week. Don't forget to come back tomorrow for 5QF with  Mama M!!

Just found your blog. I'm from Kansas, and we were stationed at Riley a total of 8 years (well married we were there 7 and my hubby 8...I was attending K-State before that). Did you get lost in JC or Manhattan? We lived off and on post too, and in 2 places on post, we left there in '05 and arrived here in Germany and have been here for the last 5 yrs and will be here for the next 3, and will eventually retire in the Riley area.

Congrats on your 100th post and welcome to the blogging world. I've been blogging for over 7 yrs. It's a great outlet.
