Greek cruise..part 8 in Venice, Italy

We were so sad that the cruise was coming to an end and we had such a great time.  It was very sad to pack our bags and know that we had to leave the ship and would not be stopping at any more fabulous places.  I do have to say though that cruising has definitely become our new way to travel. We love it!!  In fact we just booked our next cruise for spring break next year. We will be going to see Spain, Portugal and the canary islands and we could not be more excited!!

Once we got off the ship and headed to the truck..ohhhh yeah the truck...eeeshhh!!!  We got to the truck to actually take the time to look at the damage. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was and we were able to reattach the back light panel without damaging it any more then it already was. We knew we had our work cut out for us when we got home but for now we were in the beautiful city of Venice and we were going to enjoy it. After checking it at our hotel and googling a few addresses and grabbing the gps we were headed out to catch the bus back to Venice main city and start enjoying our day.

We checked on taking a water taxi....uhhh let me advise all of you not to ask how much a water taxi costs...we then thanked the nice man and walked away very quickly!!
We instead found the nearest vaperetto line and paid our smaller fee and went out to explore Venice.
It is kind of hard to take good pictures on a moving vaperetto with 50 other people pushing and shoving you at the same time..
We eventually got off the vaperetto and started exploring on foot.  We saw so many amazing buildings, churches and the best smells ever!!!
This was one of my favorite buildings and we were able to go inside it and see all the beautiful carvings and paintings.
There was a man trying to tell us about this bell tower but sadly he could only speak Italian and so I understood nothing!! sighhhhhhhhhhh
A trip to Venice is not complete without seeing the gondolas going down the canals.  We waited in line for a very long time to try to ride a gondola but sadly it took too long and we had to head back to the bus before we missed the last bus back to our hotel.
I just adore this building. Isn't it gorgeous?!?!

We have already said we want to go back to Venice another time and hopefully ride a gondolla and see more of Venice. It is a rather large city and it is hard to get around to seeing it all in one day.  Maybe we will go back next year for Carnivale and get to see the costumes and the parades.  One thing we made sure we did before leaving of course....

We bought a mask of course but....
Duhhhhh  we went to Hard Rock cafe!!!  My hurricane glass collection is getting rather large..hehe!!!

So that was our cruise to Greece and our day in Venice. I have so much more to share with you and of course pictures of the beautiful things we picked up on our little vacay but don't worry I won't forget to show you all of it.  I hope you all have a fabulous Wednesday and I will see back here tomorrow for more goodies and pics!!!
